About Royston Tan
Royston
Tan, born in 1976, has been praised as one of the most promising young
filmmakers Asia and new cinema symbol in his home
country Singapore.It is for his modern MTV style of directing and telling stories. His
movies are full of eye-catching scenes which are able to profoundly impress the
audience. He began his career with short films which were highly-valued in many
film festivals. So far, he has made 4 feature films and received 37
international awards.
Goethe Institute provides classrooms for We are the filmmakers Project
The first
classes of "We are the filmmakers" project in Hanoi will start their feature films
classes on June 14, 2009. The students will have 8
specialized in making short films.
Goethe Institute has decided to provide classrooms for two
classes (H1 and H2) of the project. Classes will be held from 9pm to 12pm and from 2pm to 5 pm every Sunday, start from June
7th, 2009 and supposedly last for 8 weeks.

About Jan Svankmajer
The Czech director and animation artist who was
born in 1934 is considered a Frank Kafka in cinema field for his unique
surrealistic style. His use of stop-motion and clay motion to create dreadful
yet funny surrealistic atmosphere in the movies has gained him popularity over
the decades. His works have the power to bring shocks and pessimism to the
audience.
The
Centre for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents
was established under the Decision 236/HĐA signed by Mr.
Tran Luân Kim, Secretary General of Vietnam Cinema Association on 15 August
2002, with the purposes to design and implement programs to assist and develop movie
talents and other activities for the development of Vietnam cinema.
