Recently, Tet Movies (movies shown on Tet holiday) have always got huge
attention from local audience. Tet holiday has become the most exciting time of
Vietnam cinema, as it observed a silent yet very tough competition among film
companies to be the top box office winner. Every single feature of the film
from script, title to actor, director and especially budget and marketing
campaign is put into competition. Thus, every year, Tet movies bring a new aspect
and asmostphere to local cinema.
Cinema Roundtable themed “Tet's movie season” is a chance for you to listen to opinions
of one who works on film making field as well as comments and and criticism of a
journalist. so that you can have a better understanding of this issue. 2008 Tet

Since early days of movie
history, there have been film- makers, who have refused all pressures and
imposition from big studios, to freely create. Started in the US, through many generations
of brave and talented film-makers, independent films has continuously developed,
become popular to audience as an art and taken part in upholding the vitality
of cinema.
The
Centre for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents
was established under the Decision 236/HĐA signed by Mr.
Tran Luân Kim, Secretary General of Vietnam Cinema Association on 15 August
2002, with the purposes to design and implement programs to assist and develop movie
talents and other activities for the development of Vietnam cinema.
