The Third Screening of HI-DeFF

Come meet Indonesian documentary filmmaker Dimas Jayasrana, founder of MarshallPlan, an independent DVD distribution label, and www.filmalternatif.org, an information website for film communities in Indonesia.

Dimas will offer a presentation on Indonesian cinema and screen a collection of short films including both fiction and documentaries.

Time:
6pm. December 19, 2008.

Introduction about Ang Lee

 

Ang Lee was born and grew up in Taiwan moved to American to study and start his career as a film-maker. He is among few Asian directors whose works are loved  by both Asian and Western audiences. At his fifties, the director surprises the world with his extraordinary views which go beyond geographical, historical and cultural borders.

The Second Screening of HI-DeFF

This week's HI-DeFF (Hanoi Independent Documentary & Experimental Film Forum) screening is at 6pm Friday Dec. 12, 2008 of independent experimental documentary film Mysterious Object at Noon (2000) by Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul.

Sitting is limited to 30. First come, first serve.

HI-DeFF and
TPD Center host a biweekly screening of independent, experimental and art films and videos on the second and fourth Fridays of the month, at 6pm.

Steen Møller Rasmussenm  (film-maker), Cai Ulrich v. Platen (painter) and Peter Schultz Jørgensen (architecture and planning expert) joined in the short documentary film  project on Hanoi’s Long Bien Bridge in 2006. They were seeking for financial supports  and finally got sponsored by some cultural organizations, including Cultural Development and Exchange Fund.

Introduction

The Centre for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents  was established under the Decision 236/HĐA signed by Mr. Tran Luân Kim, Secretary General of Vietnam Cinema Association on 15 August 2002, with the purposes to design and implement programs to assist and develop movie talents and other activities for the development of Vietnam cinema.
