The End of We are the filmmakers Project - Experimental phase

2.jpgThe experimental phase of  the project “We are the filmmakers” was launched in January, 2008. The project is aimed to set up a non-professional film-making community in high school and college students nationwide.

All the short-firms were made with non-professional recording equipment. The first members of this film making community are 72 students - aged from 12 to 20 -  coming from junior high schools, high schools and colleges in Hanoi and Hochiminh city. All the students attended a free course in making documentaries and feature films. The course focused on experimenting and practicing, which required students to always independently and proactively participate.

To all students, the course can be described as an exciting journey to explore the mystery ocean, with instructors always by their side as supporters and navigators. With cameras, handy camcorders and editing equipment at TPD center, all the students successfully “accomplished their missions”, with 17 documentaries and 6 short films completed at the end of the course. Documentaries or short films,  they all undoubtedly demonstrate student’s film making skills, as well as their unique points of views as creative teenagers.

Films made in this experimental phase are just students’ first-hand experiment. The film making community  will surely be developed to become a popular playing-field for all young film-maker wannabes. We have continually been searching for movie talents who can contribute to the development of Vietnamese cinema.

TPD center corporate with  schools, families, professional film-makers and sponsors to assist  the development of this film-making community.
