Ryoo Seung-wan, whose idol was Jakie Chan, had himself a very impressive appearance on the film scene with an independent action film named Die Bad, which was considered by film-makers to be the biggest event in Korean cinema in 2000.
It’s quite surprising to know that Ryoo has never graduated from any
professional cinema school, yet he is the script writer, director, martial art
supervisor and even actor in his own films. 8 years since his first appearance,
Ryoo has filmed 6 feature films. However good or bad, highly- recommended or
strictly- criticized these films are, Ryoo Seung-wan has doubtlessly became one
of Korean’s temporary youngest and most talented directors.
