Introduction about Ang Lee

Ang Lee was born and grew up in Taiwan moved to American to study and start his career as a film-maker. He is among few Asian directors whose works are loved  by both Asian and Western audiences. At his fifties, the director surprises the world with his extraordinary views which go beyond geographical, historical and cultural borders.

Talking about Ang Lee, we can’t forget the diversity of topic, genre and background in his movies: from action to romance, from family disagreement to homosexual love, from Taipei to Devonshire, from New York to Shanghai. However,  under the diversity   lies the  private concern and unique style of this wonderful director.
