The movie is about a wandering guitarist who was loath to become a shooter. With various budget yet impressive action scenes, the movie soon got attention and affection from audience in Sundance Festival 1993. It was the first success of today famous action director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Pla). With only $7000 of budget, El Mariachi still found its way to become a big hit. The movie is dream of many low-budgets films, which are very typical of American independent films.
