About Kim Jee-woon:

Kim Jee-won is one of the most impressive and successful filmmakers of today Korean cinema. With 5 feature films and several short films all various genres including action, drama, comedy, family, horror and even Western, Kim Jee-won has successively  made his audience surprised.

Different in the genres, his movies are seen to be similar in space, time, image and characters. As film critic Kim Hyung-seok once said, Kim Jee-won at the moment is among the rare Asian filmmakers who have the ability of telling story by space and eye-catching and unique images.

 

About A Bittersweet Life

A Bittersweet Life was listed at Top 10 Korean Film in 2005 by Korean Film critic council. Main actor in this movie,  Lee Byung-hun also received “Best actor ” award in Baek Sang Film 2006. It also brought fame to composer Dalparan in Catalonia’s 38th Sitges Film Festival.
