About “The Deserted Valley”

The Deserted Valley ( Directed by Pham Nhue Giang) tells a moving story of 2 young women and one man who are living in the remote area of Ta Giang Phinh and devoting themselves to the fight against illiteracy there. However, in this outwardly quiet and peaceful valley, love and hatred, conflict and depression never seems to rest, and hearts never stop yearning for affection.

The movie has taken part in various film festivals in China, Singapore, Australia and Korea. It also received the Fipresci prize for Asian movie in Melbourne Festival, as well as the A prize awarded by the Vietnam Cinema Association and  the Silver Lotus in the 13th Vietnamese Film Festival.
