About Little Heart

Mai (Lan Ha) leaves her poor hometown for a new job in Saigon with full of expectation and dream of a happy ending with her lover at home. Yet, the city turns its dirty, scary and disgusting face on the young girl. At the end of the day, she has no choice but to come back home empty-handed. As her body is tired, her mind is crazed; she has nothing left but “a pure little heart”.

Little Heart  (directed by Nguyen Thanh Van) is a story about young people in the poor village who have an ambition to build up their careers in the city and all the challenges they have to confront.

The movie brought director Nguyen Thanh Van the Silver Kite Award for Best Director and Best Actress in the Leading Role for Lan Ha in 16th Vietnam Film Festival. It also won various prizes in some international film festivals.

The program is non-profit, free-entranced.
Supported by Hubert Bals Fund (HBF) –
Rotterdam.
