About the movie:

Adapted from Nguyen Minh Chau' short story of the same name, Co lau is an obsessive, thrilled movie as it touches the deepest corner of human's spiritual life.

Luc, a soldier, leaves his old father and young wife for the marching to the North. His wife, Thai, believes he was dead when she found a dead body flowing by the village's river on a rainy night. She remarries Quang, a kind-hearted photographer. 3 people, the wife, the husband and the ex-father-in-law, live together in the same house.

 

When the South wins its independence, Luc comes back to his hometown in a search for his comrades' bodies. Destiny brings him to Quang's house, where he finds his wife and father. The four people are now facing puzzle of the pass and confusion of the present.

 

Co lau, the first movie of director Vuong Duc, has won Golden Torch Award.

 

The screening is free-entranced and for non-profit

The project is funded by Hubert Bals Fund (HBF) – Rotterdam.
