TPD's short film The Terrace won the second prize at Oberhausen Film Festival (German).

winners2007-1_web.jpgOn 8th, May, the 53rd Oberhausen Film Festival had concluded. The Terrace (directed by Nguyen Ha Phong) in Master class (2005-2006) of Centre for Association and Development for Movie Talents (TPD) – Vietnam Cinema Association  has won Principal Price. This is the second prize after Grand Prize of the City of Oberhausen for Russian film On the Third Planet from the Sun. 

Oberhausen is a long time film festival in Germany and is one of the oldest short film festivals in the world (started in 1954). In this festival, famous directors as Martin Scorsese, George Lucas, Roman Polanski, François Ozon and Werner Herzog had presented their early works. 

Oberhausen Film Festival has lasted from 3rd to 8th May, gathering more than 60 short films from many countries in the international films category. The festival also has other categories for German and teenagers short films. 

The success of Nguyen Ha Phong is a huge encouragement to young filmmakers and also to students of “10 months, 10 short films” project.

Plot Synopsis:

Father and son – two different generation – are living in a terrace. The father recalls his memory through his wife’s diary. By the time the son read his mother’s words, his father has gone forever...
