Introduction of screen writer Jean-Marc Rouget - Lecturer of “10 months, 10 short films” course

He has studied Modern Literature and got the Master degree of Cinema and Audiovisual at the University Paris 3. He also attended a long-term screen writing training course at the Department of Professional Training of the University Paris 3. In 986, he won the Silver Dolphin Prize at Biarritz Film Festival for ordered screenplay (Imedia & France Télécom Company). He also adapted picture books into TV series ( French Cartoon Channel/SOFIRAD – TF1 Channel – Canal Plus) and corrected screenplays of TV series (Sound and Light) 

Later, he co-operated with such newspaper as: « Le Parisien », « Le Monde », « Le Nouvel Observateur », and was a columnist of « La culture » in the « Le jour ».

In 1988, he set up Sybarite/Société d’Edition Multimédia company and produced 50 documentary films, mostly for French Channel such as: France 3, France 2 and Arté. For example:

  • « Aral, sea is being destroyed » directed by Isabelle Boeglin ( won the “7 gold” Prize in 1990)
  • « Açores de Oro » in 1990, (Golden Globe nominated 1991),
  • « Walking on the wire » directed by Guy Girard,
  • « Long shot Jirinowski, from path to U-ran » directed by Pascal Aubier
  • « Does memory dissolve in water ? » directed by Charles Najman ( 1st prize for cinematography at French Language Film Festival at Tübingen. Audience’s choice for Documentary Film at the Film Festival. In 1997, it was widely screened in France, Belgium, German and Austria.
  • « Meet at Belfort » (1996), special prize at the Festival
  • « Meetings at Dunkerque » (1996) and other TV films on F2 and F3 Channel like: « Elvis Aziz » directed by Frédéric Compain (F2 channel-1997) and «Son of the Gascognes» directed by Pascal Aubier (F2 channel -1993 – widely screened in France and U.S)
 

He also produced CD Album (Forguette Mi Note – Cobalt/Mélodie and Cornu - Island Records/Universal Music) and published the book “Thousands of women” (Philippe Maraval) and “The Gascogne’s memoirs” (Pascal Aubier và Olivier Barros). 

Jean-Marc Rouget produced Installation show by Miguel Chevalier and Emmanuel Mâa Berriet ( in Boulogne and Centre Pierre Cardin). 

He produced, directed and edited video clip (Kid Loco, Forguette Mi Note, Cornu, Lords of Acid, Anthony Queen...) and some documentary films « Savannah river » (2002), « Dog’s night (2004), « My name is Khánh » (2004)... 

In the theatre,  he co-operated with François Rodinson (“Actium battlefield”, 8mm film for the play “Antoine and Cléopatre” - CDN Besançon), and Eric Vigner to compose the « Savannah Bay » based on the novel Savannah Boï written by Marguerite Duras. 

Together with Gilles Guia , he won the 2nd prize with their work “thisisanimage.com” at the Illustrated Digital Picture Competition organized by Hôtel de ville de Paris (2003) 

In Hanoi, he directed the play “The Model” and “So…so”. He directed the Installation video “A profile in every state” combined with the play “The Model” at L’espace – CCF de Hanoi (2005)

The Centre for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents  was established under the Decision 236/HĐA signed by Mr. Tran Luân Kim, Secretary General of Vietnam Cinema Association on 15 August 2002, with the purposes to design and implement programs to assist and develop movie talents and other activities for the development of Vietnam cinema.
