The first meeting of "From Book to Movie" in 2010 will be held at TPD center at 14:00, Saturday, March 13th 2010. There will be a screening of Atonement (by Joe Wright) - a film adaption of Ian McEwan's novel of the same name, followed by discussion with our special guests about the adaption.

About Tsai Ming Liang

Born in Malaysia, Tsai Ming Lang grew up there and did not move to Taiwan until he was at the age of 20 to start his career. Up until now, he has received many prestigious award from many international film festivals, including the Golden Lion Award for Vive L'Amour at Venice Film Festival in 1994, the Silver Bear Award for The River at Berlin Film Festival in 1997 , the Press Award for The Hole in Cannes Film Festival in 1998, etc. 

In recent years, the concept of Tet movie season has become familiar with filmmakers and audience. This year, the market has been quite exciting with the debut of many feature films. Every filmmaker tries to impress the audience with a all-star cast, new topic, hot scenes and big promotion campaign. However, are those efforts enough to make a successful Tet movie season?

The meeting of Cinema Roundtable themed “Review on 2010 Tet movie season” will be a chance for film producers, promoters and journalists to share their experience and opinions in this matter.
